college kinda stinks when it burns a hole in your wallet or bank account resembling a volcano.

so it occurred to me that i almost never wright a blog, so probably the few people who do pay attention to me on DA probably don't get to know much about me. it also occurred to me that i do have something to write about. well, here is:

seems as tho things are getting more and more expensive. college is no exception. even with 5000 worth of financial aid and 5k more in fed loans is still not enough with this place. if there's one thing i know to tell my kids someday, it's try not to be out of state when it comes to your choice in universities. it's bad enough that my grandmother even suggested that i quit here and finish my studies back home in Illinois. that certainly would be much less expensive, but then i wouldn't be able to see or hang out with my friends here in Columbia. And Mizzou has grown on me here.

One thing i could do tho is see my adviser for more possible financial aid choices, like a scholarship in computer science or something. i've already taken off my meal plans to shop on my own more, cause i'm convinced that i can shop for food that costs half the cost of what they think you should on campus. it'd be cheaper to eat at Macdonald's everyday.
